Recipe: Easy Cherry Crisp

Have you ever been in the mood for dessert, but not had the energy required to make a fresh batch of decadent cupcakes, or some kind of elaborate pastry? You want something more exciting than just a scoop of ice cream or a cookie, but you just don’t have the time or the patience a fancy dessert often calls for.

This is where cherry crisp comes in—the perfect balance between simple and special, cherry crisp will always hit the spot. Packed with tasty brown sugar, crunchy oats, and of course, warm cherry pie filling, you can’t go wrong with this cherry crisp recipe. The best part, however, is that it takes almost no effort at all.

Here’s how you make the perfect cherry crisp.

The Ingredients:

  • 1 21-ounce can cherry pie filling

  • 1/2 cup roll oats

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/3 cup melted unsalted butter

  • 2/3 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

How to make Cherry Crisp:

Preheat your oven to 350°F. Lightly grease an 8x8 baking dish. Pour the cherry pie filling into the baking dish, spreading evenly throughout. In a medium bowl, melt the butter. Once melted, mix in the rolled oats, flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Mix until well combined—the end product will be crumbly. Distribute the brown sugar mix over the cherry pie filling, spreading evenly. Bake for about 30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the sides of the baking dish are bubbling. Serve topped with whipped cream and enjoy!
