Spring has finally graced us with its presence, after many gray, dreary winter months. And we couldn’t be more excited to take advantage of the gorgeous days that lay ahead — to delight in the blooming flowers, to sit outside fully on purpose, to feel the sun’s kind rays once again.

But spring is fleeting, and before we know it, summer will have begun. So now is the time to start planning the outings and activities that can only be done while spring is still with us.

Here’s your checklist that will ensure you make the most of this beautiful season.

01 | Paint the newly bloomed flowers

It’s one thing to admire the new life that the beginning of spring has brought about. It’s another thing to truly revel in it. Plan an afternoon at the park, bring painting supplies, and do your best to capture the beauty unfolding around you.

02 | Host an outdoor tea party

Tea is always the answer, wouldn’t you agree? But rather than enjoying it by the fire as you have for the past few months, invite a friend or two over for an outdoor tea party — whether on your porch, in your backyard, or even in a nearby park in you’re in an apartment. Consider making it extra special by picking up a few spring-themed pastries from a local bakery.

03 | Plant a garden

Follow the season’s example and bring life to your surroundings. If you have a yard, begin a small garden that you’ll be able to enjoy as the weather continues to warm up. If you don’t have a yard, buy a few potted plants and create an indoor “garden” by the window.

04 | Do some spring cleaning

There’s no better time to tidy up that the spring. Since the start of the year, your home has probably gathered a fair amount of junk. Take these first weeks of the season to clear out some of the clutter and get your home feeling as fresh as the air outside.

05 | Document the changing landscape

There is a special kind of magic to the first weeks of spring — life and color seem to explode from every corner. Whether you have an old camera laying around or just your phone to rely on, try to tap into your creative side and take artistic photos to document the arrival of spring.

06 | Visit a butterfly sanctuary

Nothing says “spring” like butterflies. Pay a visit to a nearby butterfly sanctuary and allow yourself to be captured by their beauty.

07 | Create your own bouquet

There’s no time like the spring to visit a flower farm. Make your time extra special by creating your own unique bouquet to take home while you’re there.

08 | Go berry picking

With many berries ripening mid- to late-spring, you have time to plan a trip to a berry farm, where you can pick your own berries. And of course, don’t forget to take them home with you and bake something tasty.

09 | Catch the sunrise

The sunrise occurs a bit later these days, making it the perfect time to rise earlier than usual, pour a cup of something delicious, and catch the sunrise in the quiet of the early morning. (We hear that’s when all the best thoughts strike.)

10 | Make a bird feeder

The lively, singing birds are another springtime staple that you’ll want to relish. Hang up a bird feeder and enjoy them as they come by throughout the day.

In short…

Spring is always shorter than any of us want it to be, but that’s part of what makes celebrating it so special. Bask in the new life that is being breathed into the world this year.
